This Is Not a Government Office. Nevada Criminal History cannot retrieve an official record, conduct an official background check, correct or remove a record, or receive a record-sealing petition. Contact the government custodian responsible for the file.
Need an Official Record?
Use the Nevada custodian that matches the record type:
- Personal Nevada criminal history and rap sheets: use the fingerprint-based request process through the Nevada Criminal History Repository
- Trial-court case files: review Nevada criminal court case records and contact the clerk for the court that handled the case
- State-prison status: search the Nevada Department of Corrections inmate locator
- Sex offender information: use the Nevada Public Sex Offender Registry / Community Notification Website
- Police and incident reports: request the file from the Nevada agency that created it
- Local bookings, jail rosters, and record-sealing filings: locate the proper local agency or court through the county directory
Nevada does not provide one statewide public counter for all record types. The Nevada Criminal History Repository handles fingerprint-verified personal history, while local courts and agencies remain the custodians of their own case, arrest, booking, and report files.
